Thou a lot of people say few of their products taste like pork. However, the primary ingredients are plant-based and minerals, so most of their products are safe and certified by Yusuf Sacha of The Institute of Islamic Jurisprudence.

So below is the list of products that Quorn has got halal certification for as per them.

What Products of Quorn are not Halal?

Thou they claim that they follow the guideline while preparing their products to fall under the halal category, due to the extensive cost of getting certified, some of their products are yet to get the tag. Nevertheless, few of their items go through the pasteurization process, and we, as consumers, are unsure what type of fungus or enzymes are used.

So if there is any doubt, use the contact us page on the website, and they will get back to you with the response. Or the best practice would be to use product only from the above list.

Why do some people believe Quorn is not halal?

Some people believe that Quorn is not halal because it is produced through fermentation, and fermentation is not permitted according to some interpretations of Islamic law. Additionally, few Quorn products contain E621 (monosodium glutamate), which is derived from fish, which is also a concern for some Muslims.

Conclusion

While the company says that its products do not contain any animal products, thus we can consider the majority of its products made in the UK as halal. If any of them is yet to get the label, better to get in touch with the Quorn team and get it clarified whether the particular product of Quorn is halal or haram.

However, besides those few particular products, feel free to enjoy a wide range of Quorn products certified as halal.
