We all love sweet food, be it snacks such as chocolates or donuts. Well, speaking of donuts, a lot of brands have emerged all around the globe, such as Dukin, Krispy Kreme, Tim Hortons, Duck Donuts, Mad Over Donuts, and much more.
While many tried to set foot globally, only a few managed to expand successfully yet operate smoothly. Among many such, one is Krispy Kreme.
I have tried contacting Krispy Kreme, but for some weird reason, their contact us page doesn’t load most of the time at my end. But luckily, their Australian website contact page worked, and I mailed them regarding my query.

I directly asked the Krispy Kreme team about the halal certification around their items. Here is what I mailed them:

Our standard range of doughnuts is halal certified. Our limited time promotional products are generally halal certified unless otherwise stated.

Thus, this clears the cloud around the halal status of Krispy Kreme in Australia and New Zealand, and it is safe to say their standard range of doughnuts is halal certified.
So as a primary practice like all others, I also tried searching on the web about Krispy Kreme Halal status but didn’t find any satisfactory answer.
Thus went further, looking around the social media, forums, and all other ways possible to determine whether it is halal.
The major obstacle during the research was Krispy Kreme is present in over 33+ countries. With brands, what I have observed is usually for the same brand, it will have certification in some countries while not in other countries, so checking thoroughly becomes very important to give a general overview.
Is Krispy Kreme Halal or Haram?
Krispy Kreme is halal because it contains no non-halal ingredients and is kosher-friendly. But its halal certification depends from country to country in which they are present currently.
Krispy Kreme claims the only animal product they use is egg and dairy products. (source). So it is also another confirmation of ensuring Krispy Kreme of being halal.

Thou the ingredients differ from product to product, the basic ones which go in more or less all the products are wheat flour, salt, sugar, water, (which is again used in the making of Kinder Chocolates also) yeast for the doughnuts part and water, sugar, corn syrup, and vanilla for the glaze part.
From the list above, all of the ingredients are halal.
Is Krispy Kreme Halal in the UK?
Krispy Kreme UK has mentioned that its products suit people following a halal diet. Thou, they haven’t obtained any Halal certification yet (as of when I am writing this article).

People often get confused as Krispy Kreme doughnuts contain alcohol. But the alcohol used as a glazing agent is less than 2%. Also, alcohol used for food coloring and flavoring is permissible under Islamic law (as long as it is not derived from dates or grapes). (source)

Thou I wasn’t able to get much info on the web. Still, looking carefully, I found out most of the Krispy Kreme outlets have obtained Halal certification. So, enquire about the certificate once you reach the Krispy Kreme store in Singapore. (probably by the time you read this article, all outlets would have got the halal certification).
Singapore fast food outlets are rapidly adapting to halal standards, Qiji also got halal certified which is a fast food joint spreaded well across Singapore.
But besides certification, be assured that items are in accordance with the halal diet.

I have filled up the contact form to know about the halal certification of Krispy Kreme Canada (once they reply will update this post). Thou the ingredients used in the making are all halal so it would be wise to consider Krispy Kreme Canada as halal.
